Civitas Academy, Reading

Marbas were supporting Hampshire County Council and Mace, with the design of Civitas Academy – a new 2 form entry primary school in Reading.

A full steel framed building was designed using composite beams and floors all detailed in 3D using Autodesk Revit. The walls were covered in a mixture of render, timber and Gebrik on a cold formed SFS system.

The school opened in 2016 and since then has won the RICS Community Benefit Award for 2017 and been shortlisted for the Constructing Excellence Project of the Year Award 2017, along with being a finalist for the APM Project Management Award Social Project of the Year 2017.
